Community Meal and Shoals Shelter

Community Meal: (Sarah Heckert)

Every Monday night, Trinity serves a community meal to anyone in need.  This is a hot meal, prepared and served by Trinity parishioners, as well as other community members interested in participating. Serving begins at 5:30 and is open to all.  We serve around 200+ meals each Monday. If you are interested in helping with this ministry, please contact our Community Meal Coordinator, Sarah Heckert.

Shoals Shelter: (Susan Henderson)

Shoals Shelter is a community organization that coordinates overnight accommodations for the homeless on cold weather nights at local churches. Thanks to the support of this Parish and the work of a team of over 18 Trinitarians, we are able to host Shoals Shelter for several nights each year. We provide a warm, safe place, meals, snacks, and “to go” bags for 12-20 guests each night.

Thank you to the Community Meal members for the suppers when we hosted on Monday nights, Thank you to those who set up cots, donated food and drinks, worked a shift as guest support, cooked breakfast and/or supper, took down cots, and cleaned up. Your presence was a blessing to our guests.  Thank you also to those who offered to drive the bus. Thank you all for saying “yes” to this ministry!  If you’d like to learn how to become a part of this ministry, please contact Susan Henderson, Trinity co-ordinator.
